TTouch for Puppies by Sarah Fisher

TTouch can form an important part of your puppy's education. The gentle TTouches help to accustom puppies to being handled all over their body whilst the slow ground work exercises help to improve co-ordination, balance and self control. TTouch helps to increase the bond between the puppy and his owners and is an excellent way of teaching children how to interact with their new friend in a calm and respectful way. In our experience TTouch puppies mature more quickly and are easier to train. They settle better and seem to have more focus than puppies that have not experienced TTouch. TTouch combines brilliantly with clicker training giving you many wonderful tools to ensure that your puppy matures into a wonderful companion and friend.

We teach a gentle containment for puppies to accustom them to being held. The aim is to contain the puppy, not restrain the puppy. Cup your hands gently around the shoulders but keep your arms and hands relaxed. If you are tense you are likely to panic the puppy and he may become defensive and frightened.

You can use gentle TTouch body work to accustom your puppy to being touched all over his body.
