| If a dog is nervous about direct hand
contact, or threatened by a person being too close, we may initiate contact with a
dressage schooling stick which we call a wand. A wrap can be wound around the end of the
wand to accustom the dog to different textures. We can also use this to start gently
moving the skin or roll the wand and wrap lightly over the body. |

| Tail Work is fantastic for dogs that are
noise sensitive, tail chew or tail chase. If you cannot handle your dog around the
hindquarters, start working on the shoulders and use slow Zig Zags along the back. Watch
your dog's responses at all times. |
