Corfu Donkey Rescue has launched an international appeal to raise €150,000. Time is running out. CDR has to relocate to new premises. This means purchasing land, acquiring licenses, and building stables, hospital and hay barns. Click here to help Alfie ALFIE

We fully appreciate that there are many, many people and animals world wide in desperate need of financial and medical help

and we wish that we could help them all but sadly that is an impossible task. Tony and I are supporting Alfie as his owners were unable to pay for the treatment and as a result Alfie has been 'adopted' by countless dog owners around the UK who are all joining forces to help this gorgeous pup. He lives with his fosterer and you can read his story at the link above. We feel that he deserves a chance and are donating money and items for the raffle. Please join Alfie's ever growing 'family' and support him in any way you can.

VOICE YOUR CONCERN OVER ANIMAL CRUELTY

Guillermo Habacuc Vargas: We received a letter drafted by someone who obviously felt passionately about this subject. I feel strongly enough to ask Liz to include the Ministerio de Cultura de Costa Rica contact details below on the site - please look into these allegations and perhaps write something yourself. At least Google the artist and check his "artwork" out - there's a YouTube piece that includes the "exhibit" itself and it's heartbreaking. For myself, I find deliberate cruelty to animals abhorrent. All the Best, Tony Head

GILES THE DONKEY'S ADVENTURE TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SAFE HAVEN FOR DONKEYS IN THE HOLY LAND

Giles, a cuddly knitted donkey, has begun a world-wide journey to raise much-need funds for Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land.

Giles, who is named after Anthony Head's character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, began his journey at the home of Sarah and Anthony. From there he will be journeying to San Francisco with a friend of Sarah's, who will be making a donation to the charity in return for the privilege of the company of her new cuddly friend.

It is hoped that this will be the start of many adventures for the intrepid Giles, who even has his own blog to share photos and details of his travels. You can visit his blog *here.

How far will Giles go? How much money will he raise? To find out, check back to the blog regularly or sign up to Safe
