DIRECTIONS
TO TILLEY FARM, TIMSBURY ROAD, FARMBOROUGH, BATH, BA2 0AB
TILLEY FARM IS A PRIVATE
ESTABLISHMENT AND VISITING IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
**For horse boxes and trailers coming to the farm,
follow directions from the M4 East Junction 19 to avoid Bath and steep hills.
FROM THE SOUTH WEST
From the M5, take junction 23. Follow the
signs for Glastonbury/Wells.
Take the A37 from Wells sign posted to
Bristol, through Chewton Mendip and Farrington Gurney.
Once in Farrington Gurney take the right
hand turning (A39) towards Bath. Stay on this road through Hallatrow and High Littleton
into open countryside, passing a cafe and car forecourt on your right after leaving High
Littleton. Continue on this road until Alan Motors then Farmborough Tyres are on your
right, start indicating and take the right turning immediately after this garage, sign
posted towards Timsbury.
After the Butchers Arms pub on the right and
a row of local authority houses on a bank up on your left, slow down and indicate left.
The entrance to Tilley Farm is past a
paddock and immediately after a large silage clamp made from railway sleepers on the left.
Enter through large double wooden gates.
Parking is on the left after the clamp.
FROM THE M4 (This
route takes you around the outskirts of Bath to avoid the heavy traffic)
From the M4 motorway (junction 18) take A46
towards Bath.
Pass Dyrham Park on right and then a small
Tea shop on right.
After the little shop (old Tollhouse) turn
right. At the end of the road turn right and immediately left. Should be signposted to
Bath Racecourse and Park and Ride.
Pass Toghill Farmhouse on right and stay on
road as it drops down hill and passes signs to Hamswell on left.
At end of road turn left and stay on road as
it passes Bath racecourse on right.
Take next right turn after the racecourse
(takes you down past the loop of the track) into Lansdown Lane down a very steep hill and
into the village of Weston.
At bottom of hill take 1st exit at
roundabout for 0.2 miles.
After little parade of shops on right take
2nd right turn (the first is a small one way road) into road marked Anchor Road leading to
Penn Hill Road and continue to end of road.
Turn left onto the A431 Kelston Road and
then immediate right (this is a sharp right hand turn) into Old Newbridge Hill.
At the end of the road turn right onto the
A4 Newbridge Road going past the Park and Ride on your right and over a canal. At traffic
lights turn right onto the dual carriageway. Stay in the left hand lane of dual
carriageway.
At the roundabout take the second exit
(straight over) and stay on this road - the A39 - for approximately 4 miles.
Turn left towards Farmborough at the lights
(still on the A39 even though the road carries straight on ahead of you) immediately
before a large garage (Shell) and Store. After turning, the garage/store will now
be on your right.
After passing a large bright blue bed and
breakfast with butterflies on the wall turn left into Timsbury Road passing Farmborough
Tyres on your right.

Parking is on the left after the clamp.
FROM THE SOUTH EAST
Take the A303 signposted towards Yeovil and
then follow the A36 towards Warminster and Bath.
Stay on the A36 and then pick up signs for
Frome town centre and Longleat House.
Stay on this road past Longleat and turn off
following signs for Frome.
Go through the centre of Frome and follow
signs for Radstock.
Once in Radstock turn right at two mini
roundabouts and follow the A367 towards Bath.
Proceed up the hill as the road bends right.
As the road flattens, you are in open countryside.
Take the left hand turning towards Camerton,
go through the village of Camerton passing the National Osteoporosis on the left.
As you go out of Camerton you will pass
Travis Perkins on the right. At the top of the road turn left and stay on this road
through Timsbury.
Once through the village you pass Conygre
Hall, turn right towards Farmborough.
After passing a stone marked Farmborough on
the left, slow down and indicate right.
You will pass a white farmhouse with a
wooden gate, immediately after this are large double wooden gates, turn here.
**FROM THE EAST (route for horse boxes and trailers)
Take the M4 signposted to London. Take
junction 19 M32 towards Bristol and stay in left lane.
After going round the roundabout join the
M32 for one exit staying left and follow signs for the A4174 Ring Road.
Stay on this road going over lots of
roundabouts until you come to a large roundabout on the A4. Turn left towards Bath and at
the next roundabout turn right towards Keynsham.
At mini roundabout turn left by Chinese
Takeaway and stay on this road until the end going through countryside. At the end of the
road (by the Two Headed Man garage and junction) turn right onto the A39.
Turn left towards Farmborough at the lights
(still on the A39 even though the road carries straight on ahead of you)
immediately before a large garage (Shell) and Store. After turning, the
garage/store will now be on your right.
